I have learned that the
Human Heart can repent
and that it can come up from
the depths of a liviing death
to light and warmth
and bring
unbelievable happiness again

Hello, my name is Rose and, I live with an eye disease called Uveitis.
Although Uveitis is a Frustrating, and mind wretching Eye disease, I have come to one conclusion.... I will not let this disease Dominate my life life. I have added some music to my pages in hopes of making them somewhat pleasant although the disease is not.

I was diagnosed with Uveitis almost 20 years ago. My Uveitis is considered Idiopathic, which means a cause can not be found.

Almost 50% of Uveitis cases are diagnosed as Idiopathic, The remainder are attributated to systemic Disorders or Autoimmune Disorders which may be treatable and the Uveitis put into remission.

Over the years,My life became an emotional Rollercoaster, a world of frustration, and a mind full of unanswered questions, such as, Why I had this disease... what caused it... will it go away... and the biggest question I had was... Will I go Blind? My independence had been taken away and my confidence vanished.

My words are not a reflection on the way another person will experience Uveitis. We are all different. Some people have a mild bout with Uveitis and others have had it longer than me.

What I feel we do share is...We have uveitis in one form or another... experience Emotional Termoil within ourselves... feel totally frustrated and ...have never ending questions. with hopes of finding an answer. We are all in this plight together to find information and the best possible treatment for ourselves or a loved one.

Although many times we feel alone in this devistating battle, we must realize that we are NOT alone, there are many individuals fighting this preplexing disease. and many Opthomoligists working diligantly to control it.

I have been very fortunate in finding an excellent opthomologist/immunologist who has been able to maintain my sight with a "Zero Tollerance" approach to my Uveitis. , which has enable me to maintain what sight I have, continue on with my goals, create this webb page, and live my life with some alterations.

The most wonderful experience I have had is that I have met many people on the internet who have Uveitis. We share our fears, frustrations, anger, we laugh, cry, and support each other. We have developed a supportive friendship.....

Friends are Angels
Who lift us to our feet
When our own wings
have trouble
Remembering how to Fly..
